The community engagement, CLAIM YOUR LIGHT, of HARBOR MEMORY includes two parts: school workshop and distribution. During the workshop, over 30 kids participated in the drawing session and their drawings were displayed as part of the installation.
The second part of the engagement invites people to register for the individual pots of the installation. Planters are numbered from 001 to 375. During the light festival, visitors are encouraged to register for one or more lighting plants. The project engages with the public by planting a sense of ownership to each individual, thus the bond between city and citizen, and among Baltimoreans is strengthened.
